Protracted Litigation

Some disputes between Indigenous nations and the federal / provincial Crown must be resolved by the courts. These cases, usually taken to the Federal Court, often involve high – stakes, like protection or advancement of constitutional rights, high monetary values, or entitlement to land, and, may involve legally complex, multi-party, long-term conflict. 

The desire to understand the world and the desire to reform it are the two great engines of progress, without which human society would stand still or retrogress.
